Year 3/4 Roman Day

We marked the beginning of our Roman topic with a visit from a Roman soldier which gave the children an exciting ‘real’ experience of this historical period and I am sure, a desire to learn more.

Through the unit we have been looking at the impact the Romans had on Britain.

To celebrate our learning, we will be having a Roman Day in school on Tuesday 15th February.  The children are invited to come to school dressed as Romans (Some simple costume ideas can be found online – a pillowcase makes a great tunic!). There will be a variety of activities during the day based on Roman games, traditions and skills. We will also be sampling food based on recipes from the time. If your child has any allergies, please make sure the office staff are informed.

We hope that the children will really enjoy this opportunity to celebrate what they have learned already and discover more about the Ancient Romans.
